What is the Performing Artist Program?
At Sing Music Studio, the Performing Artist Program is our own unique and innovative approach to music education—one you won’t find anywhere else. It’s where young musicians grow not just in skill, but in confidence, creativity, and community. With a blend of private lessons, ensemble experiences, and exciting performance opportunities, this holistic program supports both new students and graduates of Kindermusik as they continue—or begin—their musical journey.

Can my child under 12 enroll for private lessons only?
At Sing Music Studio, students under 12 enroll in our Performing Artist Program, which includes both private lessons and group classes. This combined approach offers the richest experience—supporting musical growth, social connection, and performance confidence. Families seeking a lighter schedule may choose to participate in group classes only. That said, adding private lessons is highly encouraged, as it plays a key role in building individual skills and confidence.
What is the difference between an Artist Membership and a Studio Membership?
Artist Memberships are for students enrolled in lessons only and include all performance events throughout the school year, giving students regular opportunities to build confidence and develop performance skills—an essential part of musical growth.
Studio Memberships offer the same high-quality lesson only experience, with the option to participate in performances a la carte for an additional fee if desired.
Both memberships include monthly draws and access to our Ignite the Spark Contest.
Can I change the type of my membership after I have enrolled?
When you enroll, you’re committing to your selected membership type for the full school year. This allows us to plan effectively and provide a consistent experience for all students. If your needs change, you’re welcome to select a different membership type when re-enrolling for the following school year.
How long is my membership?
We run classes and lessons throughout the school year from September to June. Your membership is ongoing and will end automatically at the end of June.
Can I change the type of instrument I would like to study after I have enrolled?
We understand that interests can evolve, especially as students explore music more deeply. While changes may be possible, they depend on instructor availability and scheduling. If you’re considering a switch, reach out to us, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request and support a smooth transition whenever possible.
Are lessons and classes held every week?
Yes—your weekly lesson or class spot is reserved for you throughout the school year. However, some weeks feature studio-wide performance events that take place instead of your regular lesson or class. These are an important part of our curriculum and are designed to build confidence, musicality, and connection through shared experiences.
How do the performances work?
Many of our performance events are scheduled in place of regular lessons or classes and are included for Performing Artist Program students and Artist Members. These events offer a supportive space to grow performance skills and celebrate musical milestones. Studio Members are welcome to participate as well and may choose performances individually.

How does the Happiness Guarantee work?
We want you to love your experience at Sing Music Studio. That’s why our Happiness Guarantee allows new students in our ongoing school-year programs to withdraw within the first 4 weeks if it’s not the right fit. Simply complete and submit the Withdrawal Form on or before your final scheduled visit during your 4th week of enrolment, and no further payments will be processed.
After this initial 4-week period, the Happiness Guarantee no longer applies and all subscription fees become non-refundable.
For Kindermusik and Lesson-Only students, withdrawal requires 30 days’ written notice (via the
Withdrawal Form) prior to the 1st of the month. One final full month’s tuition will be charged following the notice date.
What happens with my private lesson if I am sick or away?
Never miss a lesson again! If you’re unable to attend—whether it’s a planned vacation or a last-minute illness—you can request a LessonMate makeup lesson through your Opus account. Simply select the LessonMate option, and your instructor will be notified.
In the rare case of an instructor absence, we’ll provide a substitute teacher, a LessonMate, or a rescheduled lesson, depending on the situation.
What is a LessonMate lesson?
LessonMate is a personalized online makeup created just for you by your instructor.
It includes:
– A review of the previous lesson
– New material for the upcoming week
This ensures you can stay on track, even when you can’t be there in person.
How do I request a LessonMate?
Log in to your Opus account, navigate to the date of your upcoming absence, and select “Request LessonMate.” This will notify your instructor and allow them to prepare your personalized online lesson. Log into Opus – HERE
Missed lessons without notice are forfeited. If you’re cancelling last-minute and don’t need a LessonMate, you can cancel directly through your Opus account or contact the Harmony Team.
Are make-up lessons available for the Performing Artist Program Ensembles?
Weekly attendance throughout the entire school year is a high priority for relationship building and the utmost success during the group performances scheduled in October, November, December, February, April and June.
In the event that your child is ill or away, make-up classes are not available, however regular weekly updates, information and resources are sent out to support what your child is learning which you will continue to receive.
Should classes be cancelled by Sing Music Studio, a reschedule date or video lesson may be provided depending on circumstances.
What happens if I miss a Kindermusik class?
Unlimited make-up classes are available during the ongoing September through June classes, provided space in another age appropriate class is available and the client is actively enrolled with an account in good standing.
Should classes be cancelled by Sing Music Studio, make-ups will be available in alternate age appropriate classes. A reschedule date or video lesson may be provided depending on circumstances.
