Recitals & Performances

Recitals and live performances are a wonderful way to build self-confidence, performance skills, learn to control nervous energy, gauge improvement, work towards a goal, gain a sense of community, and build excitement about music! Students of all ages (including adults) and levels are highly encouraged to participate.

Sing Music Studio is overjoyed to host in-studio showcases, performance weeks and a large recital at the end of the school year in June. All of our students also have access to a variety of live performance opportunities in the community.

Holiday Performance Week – December 10-12

Studio Closed for Regular Lessons* – Join Us for a Professional Video Recital Experience!

This holiday season, we’re thrilled to introduce a new tradition: Holiday Performance Week! Instead of our usual live holiday recital, students will have the opportunity to record a professional-quality video performance, captured by our very own Neal Burstyn, a high-end professional photographer and videographer. Over three days—December 10, 11, and 12—the studio will be transformed into a festive recording space, with Neal using his expert skills and top-of-the-line equipment to create a polished, memorable video.

Each student will sign up for a dedicated recording time slot, where they’ll perform their holiday song or other chosen piece they are working on in their lessons. These individual performances will be carefully compiled into a single, high-quality video that captures the magic of the season and each student’s achievements. For students with more than one instrument of study, please be sure to book TWO time slots, one per song.

Performing Artist Program (PAP) Ensembles – Explorers Prep, Explorers, Dreamers, and Players

Our Performing Artist Ensembles will have pre-scheduled group performance times to capture their ensemble pieces. Ensemble students will be notified of their specific day and time via email, so please watch your inbox for these details!

For PAP students who wish to record a solo piece in the instrument of their study, a time slot separate from the assigned group performance time must be booked.

Holiday Performance Video Keepsake USBs

Celebrate this special event with a beautifully branded USB keepsake featuring the full, professionally produced video. In past years, our holiday recitals were held live, and we know that not all friends and family members could attend in person. This new video format offers a lasting memento that families can cherish and easily share with loved ones near and far.

  • Branded USB: $40 each, perfect as holiday gifts for grandparents, relatives, and friends
  • Digital download: $55, a high-resolution keepsake for families who prefer digital access

Proceeds from USB and download sales help support the studio and contribute to Neal’s professional recording and editing services.

Details to Know:

  • *No Regular Lessons: Regular lessons and classes will be paused from December 12–14 to allow for recording sessions.
  • Sign-Up Required: Please reserve a recording time slot for your student. Sign-up details will be provided via email.
  • Attire: Dress to impress just like any performance. Feel free to get festive for the occasion!

This video recital is just as special as our live performances, and we encourage all students to participate and prepare a holiday song or piece they love to share. We can’t wait to see each performance come to life in this new holiday tradition!

Join Us For Our Spring Recitals

Tuesday June 10 & Wednesday June 11, 2025

Venue: Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga

84 S Service Rd, Mississauga, ON L5G 2R9

We would love to invite all of our students to participate, regardless of age or skill. For those in private lessons, you will work with your instructor to prepare a piece. For our Performing Artist Program students, you will work on a group performance and are also welcome to perform a solo piece prepared with your private lesson instructor. Kindermusik classes are also welcome to participate.

Song Selection Process

Students will perform one solo song selection per instrument of study. The song must be a piece that has been (or is currently being) worked on in the current school year during your lessons with your instructor. Consider song selections you enjoy performing, that showcase your abilities and what you have learned recently. This is a great opportunity to learn something new and exciting and there are plenty of supplementary books available for purchase at the studio. Song selections will be approved and finalized by your instructor.

Recital Tickets

Tickets will go on sale in May. Be sure to choose the correct showtime below. The direct ticket link to the correct showtime will be sent to you by email. If you require showtime clarification, contact the Harmony Team at [email protected].

Christmas in the Village – November 28

Studio Closed for Lessons – Join Us for a Festive Community Celebration!

This year, we’re thrilled to be part of Clarkson BIA’s annual Christmas in the Village event on Thursday, November 28 at Clarkson Community Church. In place of regular lessons, we warmly invite all students and families, regardless of regular lesson days, to join us for this festive celebration!

The event begins with an artisan market at 5:00 PM, followed by the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival at 6:00 PM. Before Santa arrives, enjoy the sounds of the Salvation Army Brass Band outside as they set the holiday mood, and don’t miss our Christmas Carolers as they perform outside at 5:50pm, welcoming Santa to the Village with a special song!

Following the Christmas Carolers’ performance at 5:50 PM, our indoor open mic session will commence inside the church and run from 6:00–8:00 PM. All students, from any lesson day, are welcome to perform a holiday song or any tune they like in this relaxed, no-pressure setting. Performing Artist Program ensemble students—including our Explorers Prep, Explorers, Dreamers, and Players levels are encouraged to attend with their classmates! This is a wonderful opportunity for ensembles to perform a holiday song together or take turns sharing their music. Feel free to coordinate a time to meet your classmates, or simply arrive when you can and enjoy the festivities.

Event Highlights

  • Artisan Market, live music, Santa’s visit, a petting zoo, face painting, crafts, and more!
  • The studio’s Christmas Carolers group sings on the church steps to welcome Santa at 5:50 PM
  • The studio’s open mic from 6:00–8:00 PM—bring a song to share or simply enjoy the music!
  • Donations are encouraged for The Compass Food Bank, Armagh, and Embrave (non-perishable, gift card, or financial donations).

Arrival Times

  • Christmas Carolers group: arrive to meet Miss Erin at 5:30 PM inside the church for a quick pre-performance rehearsal (don’t forget to wear your Sing Music Studio toque)
  • Student Participants for the open mic: arrive inside the church anytime between 6:00–7:45 PM, no pre-registration required

Additional Details to Know:

  • *No Regular Lessons: Regular lessons and classes will be paused on November 28 to allow for set-up and facilitation of the event.

This event has something for everyone, and we’d love to see every student join in the holiday fun. Don’t forget to dress warmly for the outdoor activities, including your Sing Music Studio toque available for purchase online and at the front desk, and bring a donation to support local charities. Free parking is available behind the church.
