We are looking for exuberant individuals to join our team in a teaching role at our studio located in the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga. In this role, you will work with a dedicated team of music education faculty whose mission is to guide each student to discover their musical spark.

We are expanding our team of Sparklers for the 2026–2027 school year!

Our instructors don’t simply teach private lessons. They coach bands, lead collaborative music classes, prepare students for performances and help children discover the joy of making music together.

We are currently seeking one or more enthusiastic music educators with strengths in one or more of the following areas:

• Piano Instructor – beginner to advanced
• Guitar, electric guitar, bass and ukulele
• Group music instruction – elementary levels
• Band and ensemble coaching – grades 5-8
• Early Childhood Music Instructor – teaching toddler, preschool and early elementary levels group classes (Kindermusik certification required – ask how we can help)

Preference will be given to candidates who teach multiple instruments (including voice) and enjoy both private instruction and collaborative group music-making.

In this role you will…

• Deliver exciting and engaging lessons and classes using our holistic approach to music education while following studio curriculum and guidelines.
• Work with students ages 4 through adult across a variety of musical styles.
• Teach age-appropriate collaborative music classes, based on your experience and abilities, including:
  • JK/SK: Music and movement, singing, percussion, keyboard exploration, introductory ukulele, boomwhackers and bells.
  • Grades 1-2: Music and movement with an increased emphasis on recorder, ukulele, keyboard, singing, boomwhackers and bells.
  • Grades 3-4: Introduction to band skills through deconstructed drum kit, singing, keyboard, ukulele and collaborative music-making.
  • Grades 5-8: Coach student bands, rehearse repertoire and prepare students for performances and community gigs.
  • Deliver engaging private lessons in your primary instrument(s).
• Prepare students for studio showcases, community performances, recitals and other performance opportunities throughout the year.
• Encourage and empower students to become their best selves authentically.
• Nurture meaningful relationships with students and families that foster confidence, growth and long-term retention.
• Participate in team development, attend meetings and contribute to our collaborative studio culture.
• Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming teaching environment.
• Utilize technology and online resources to enhance learning.

Instrument/Voice Instructors:

• An eagerness to learn new software systems and are comfortable with technology.

Early Years Music Instructors:

• Full Kindermusik Accreditation or prepared to complete full Kindermusik Accreditation with some support from us.
• Experience or knowledge in early childhood education or early childhood music.
• Strong musicality, with the ability to sing confidently, in tune, and in an upper vocal register.
• Bring energy, warmth, and presence to group teaching.
• Connects naturally with young children and their caregivers, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Is flexible, self-motivated, and eager to grow.
• Communicates professionally and kindly with both families and team members.
• Is collaborative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic about being part of a nurturing studio culture.

The Essentials

• Minimum school year commitment required, with interest in building a meaningful, long-term role within a collaborative music education community
• Music Degree, Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to teach your primary instrument to advanced levels
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
• Comfort with group class instruction (training provided)
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Skills with technology and willingness to learn and excel with new software systems
• September through June operational hours:
  • Monday–Thursday 3:00–9:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am–3:00pm,
  • Additional opportunities for Kindermusik programs weekdays during the day
  • Not all instructors are required to be available for all operating hours
• Access to a car or reliable transportation
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one)
