Sing Music Studio is growing our team of Sparklers – our music instructors – at our studio in Clarkson, Mississauga.
We’re looking for warm, engaging musicians who love connecting with students and helping them build confidence through music.
We’re currently looking for instructors in:
- Piano
- Voice
- Guitar, bass and ukulele
- Drums
- Multi-instrument instruction
We’re especially interested in instructors who can teach more than one instrument, but it isn’t required. Opportunities may also be available for band, ensemble and group teaching.
We welcome applications from instructors with availability during any of our regular teaching hours and are always interested in connecting with talented music educators for current and future opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Teach engaging private lessons to children, teens and adults
- Build strong connections with students and families
- Adapt your teaching to individual learning styles and musical goals
- Prepare students for performances throughout the year
- Communicate professionally with families and the Sing team
- Have opportunities to expand into group, band or ensemble teaching
Who We’re Looking For
Great Sing Music Studio instructors aren’t defined by credentials alone.
We’re looking for musicians who are:
- Warm, encouraging and able to connect naturally with children
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Strong communicators
- Creative and adaptable teachers
- Coachable and interested in continued growth
- Comfortable with technology
- Musically proficient in the instrument(s) they teach
Teaching experience, post-secondary music education and professional music experience are assets, but a music degree is not required.
A current Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
Why Teach at Sing Music Studio?
We provide the students, teaching space, scheduling and administrative support so you can focus on teaching.
You’ll also receive onboarding and ongoing support, opportunities to expand your teaching roster and the potential to move into group and ensemble teaching.
Our regular teaching hours are Monday–Thursday, 3:00–9:00 PM and Saturdays, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Instructors are not required to be available every day; however, on the days they commit to teaching, full-shift availability is required.
Compensation & Growth
This is a part-time subcontractor opportunity.
Private lesson teaching rates start at $26/hour, with a performance review after 90 days and opportunities for rate progression. Established instructors also participate in annual reviews.
Separate rates apply to group and ensemble teaching, required training, and other non-teaching assignments.
