We are looking for exuberant individuals to join our team in a teaching role at our studio located in the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga. In this role, you will work with a dedicated team of music education faculty whose mission is to guide each student to discover their musical spark.

Opportunities for 2025: Join Our Growing Team

We are expanding our team of Sparklers! The following teaching role begins immediately with assisting on Saturdays and training for Kindermusik accreditation. Teaching independently will commence in September 2025.

  • Early Years Music Instructor – teaching toddler, preschool and early elementary levels

The following teaching roles begin in September 2025, with opportunities for earlier start dates through summer assisting, camp participation, or club support.

  • Piano Instructor – teaching up to advanced levels
  • Guitar/Ukulele/Bass Instructor – teaching up to advanced levels; piano to intermediate or advanced levels
  • Voice Instructor – voice to advanced levels; piano to intermediate or advanced levels
  • Drum Instructor or Sub – must be able to teach drums and piano (intermediate or above) for a regular teaching role
  • Substitute Teachers – for all instruments, with opportunities for advancement

Preference given to candidates who teach multiple instruments (including voice).

In this role you will…

Early Years Music Instructors:

  • Lead joyful and engaging Saturday morning Kindermusik and group music classes for toddlers, preschoolers, and children ages 4–7, beginning September 2025.
  • Teach simple recorder melodies, basic ukulele chords and strum patterns in classes for ages 4–7.
  • Begin assisting in classes on Saturdays immediately through the end of June 2025 as part of your training, with Tuesday daytime assisting opportunities available as well.
  • Assist in Wednesday evening Kindermusik classes at 5:45pm during July and August 2025.
  • Have the opportunity to participate in studio summer camps during the weeks of July 7, July 21, and August 5.
  • Train toward Kindermusik accreditation (approximately a 3-month process) with a small financial commitment required.
  • Create a warm, supportive learning environment that helps young children and their families feel connected and confident.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, contribute to our Trello boards, and participate in professional development and team meetings.
  • Help maintain the sparkle and cleanliness of your teaching space.

Instrument/Voice Instructors:

  • Deliver exciting and engaging lessons and classes with a holistic approach, following the studio guidelines.
  • Work with students ages 4 through adult across a variety of musical styles \.
  • Teach age-appropriate group classes, based on your experience and abilities, including:
    • Ages 4–7: Music & movement, percussion, simple recorder melodies, and ukulele chords
    • Ages 8–9: Basic rhythms on deconstructed drum kit, keyboard/synth, ukulele, and beginner band skills
    • Ages 10+: Multi-instrument and voice-based band classes
  • Encourage and empower students to become their best selves authentically.
  • Nurture connections with students and families that stem from empathy and drive retention.
  • Participate in team development, use Trello for communication, and attend team meetings.
  • Help keep your teaching space clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Utilize technology and online resources.

Early Years Music Instructors:

  • Experience or knowledge in early childhood education or early childhood music.
  • Strong musicality, with the ability to sing confidently, in tune, and in an upper vocal register.

  • Connects naturally with young children and their caregivers, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Instrument/Voice Instructors:

  • An outgoing personality with the ability to command the room, directing a band or leading a class of young students in an exciting and engaging manner.
  • Self direction, resourcefulness and the ability to think outside the box, reframing instructional concepts in order to reach all students of varying learning styles and needs.
  • A punctual work-ethic that thrives on showing up early, being prepared, an attention to detail and a strong commitment to the studio.
  • An eagerness to learn new software systems and are comfortable with technology. 
  • Excellent and professional communication skills, both verbally and written, making it easy to communicate with students, parents and team members and create a mutually respectful environment.
  • A strong level of team commitment. You are generous and caring towards your fellow team members which uplifts the entire studio.
  • An enjoyment of learning and growing.

The Essentials

  • Minimum 2-year commitment required
  • Music Degree, Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to teach your primary instrument to advanced levels
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
  • Comfort with group class instruction (training provided)
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Skills with technology and willingness to learn and excel with new software systems
  • Availability:
    • Studio hours are Monday–Thursday 3:00–9:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am–3:00pm
    • Additional early years classes on Tuesdays 10am-2pm
    • Not all instructors are required to be available for all operating hours
  • We currently anticipate taking on:
    • 2 instrument/voice instructor shifts on Mondays and Saturdays
    • 1 instructor/voice instructor shift on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
    • 1 early years music instructor shift on Saturdays with Tuesday daytime assisting opportunities and availability to sub in Kindermusik classes with babies and toddlers.
  • Additional availability for summer day camps and weekday clubs (Mon–Wed from 4:30pm on) preferred
  • Access to a car or reliable transportation
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
